This page is my dedication to Dinosaurs and ancient marine reptiles. These pictures were taken while on a visit to the
Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia. I would recommend a visit here to anyone who has even a remote interest in ancient
animals, fossils, dinosaurs or mummies.
| "Gigantasaurus" |
| Yes. That is its real name. This was supposedly the largest carnivore (even bigger than T-Rex!!!) |
| The Head of "Gigantosaurus" |
| This giant head is about 10 feet above my camera position. |
| The Head of a Tyrannosaurus Rex |
| T-Rex's head is about 25% smaller than Gigantosaur's. |
| Pachycephalosaurus |
| A harmless herbivore about human-sized. T-Rex's head is about the size of this creature's skeleton. |
| The skull and Headplate of Triceratops. |
| Built like a rhino, this herbivore was a fighter. |
| Egyptian Mummy |
| Not all the exhibits were dinosaurs. This was a priest of Egypt who lived about 2,800 years ago. |
| Mesosaurus |
| A small marine creature measuring a few feet that lived about 80 million years ago. |
| Tylosaurus |
| This was a huge marine creature that measured 43 feet long!!! Just the jaw is larger than 8 feet ! |
| Elasamosaurus |
| This was the largest member of the Pleasiosaur family. This adult measured 42 feet long. |
| Ceolocanth |
| This ancient fish was around over 400 million years ago. It's about 6 to 7 feet long. |
